Moon Weaves -

One of the most fascinating things about chainmaille is VARIANTS! Who knew you could hook rings together in so many ways!?

Take the bracelet I'm wearing in the picture; the weave is called Harvest Moon. Now look at the WIP piece...by adding large alternating orbital rings to Harvest Moon, I now have Crescent Moon. There's another variant called Moon42 (that's on my other wrist). All three of these weaves, and more, belong to the Helm family...

OVB Lace WIP -

This is a variation of a weave called Orbital Vipera Berus. I'm really liking the look of it, and it works up quickly. Definitely will be making more of these!

The first layer consists of a simple chain of colored (in this instance) rings, then larger orbital rings woven thru the small rings as the second pass. 

On the third trip down the length of the bracelet, additional small rings are added to offset the large rings.
